But how do we make it happen? Well, it starts with the Labour Relations Act, which lays the groundwork for self-regulation within industries through Bargaining Councils like ours. We’re not just a council envisioned in the Act; we’re on a mission to create and uphold industrial peace and stability specifically within the Motor Industry.
We achieve this by bringing a range of crucial services spread across South Africa.
We provide a forum and the necessary facilities for Collective Bargaining, ensuring that everyone’s voice is heard and respected.
We’re here to settle any labour disputes that may arise, keeping the industry running smoothly.
And let’s not forget about the social benefits we offer our members – from pension and provident funds to medical, sick, accident, maternity, and holiday pay funds. We’re here to uplift everyone within the motor industry.
It’s important to note that our Council consists of representatives from both employer and employee organisations, ensuring that everyone’s interests are considered. And when it comes to agreements negotiated by the Council, they’re extended by the State to cover the entire industry – a testament to our credibility and effectiveness.
