[PICTURE]: Meet MIBCO’s Project Manager Usha Parshotam
As of the 1st August 2024, MIBCO welcomed project manager, Usha Parshotam whose role is both broad and diverse. She is in the ITBI section of the new building at SSC. According to Usha, the role of a project manager entail juggling a variety of core responsibilities to lead a project through hurdles and changes, to create a smoother experience from the perspective of both team members and stakeholders.
“Responsibilities involve, planning, co-ordination, budgets, risk management and quality standards while skills required are adaptability, problem solving, communication, organizational, leadership amongst others,” she says.
Usha adds that she hopes to bring positive change and actively contribute to supporting the MIBCO’s vision, mission and values.
Usha’s career spans across over 30 years in various industries ranging from Retail Banking, Information Technology to FMCG (The Coca-Cola Company, SASOL) and Investment Banking.
“I have a wide range of interests. All things involving nature such as; hiking, plants, trees, astronomy, esoteric and natural healing philosophies. I love travelling to learn different cultures, people and food,” she says.
In additional to these interests, Usha adds that she enjoys reading autobiographies and motivational books as well as all genres of music with some exceptions.
“My ultimate destress is baking and cooking experiments with my family as guinea pigs,” she states.
